Educational Institutions in Una to Remain Closed on September 17
Una, September 16:- In compliance with the announcement made by Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu during the Anti-Chitta Walkathon organised in Una on Wednesday, a holiday has been declared in Una district on September 17 (Thursday). Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said that the Higher Education Department has issued a notification in this regard.
According to the notification issued, all government and private schools, colleges, B.Ed. colleges, Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and polytechnic colleges in Una district will remain closed on September 17 for students as well as teaching and non-teaching staff.
It is pertinent to mention that a large number of students from various educational institutions in the district, youth and members of the general public participated in the Anti-Chitta Walkathon organised in Una on Wednesday. During the walkathon, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu appreciated the widespread participation and solidarity of the youth against drugs and announced a holiday in educational institutions on September 17. In compliance with this announcement, the Higher Education Department has now issued the notification.
