DAV School Celebrates Independence Day with Grandeur Students Groove to Patriotic Songs

Hoshiarpur, August 15: The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at DAV Senior Secondary School, Hoshiarpur. Students enthralled the audience with a variety of performances, including Saraswati Vandana, patriotic songs, choreography based on patriotic themes and a folk dance based on the festival of Teej.
Prof. Manoj Kapoor, educationist, Founder of Triple-M Group of Educational Institutions and member of the DAV College Managing Committee, attended the function as the Chief Guest and unfurled the National Flag.
Expressing his gratitude to Dr. Anoop Kumar, President of the DAV College Managing Committee, Prof. Kapoor said he was honoured to have been given the opportunity to unfurl the National Flag and interact with the students. He said celebrating Independence Day among students and engaging with them was a matter of great pride and happiness for him.
Addressing the students, Prof. Kapoor said that freedom is not merely a right but also a responsibility. The youth have the most important role to play in taking the country forward. He urged students to embrace discipline, honesty, hard work and patriotism in their lives.
Prof. Kapoor said freedom fighters had sacrificed everything for the independence of the country. Remembering their sacrifices would be meaningful only when citizens perform their duties with complete dedication. He stressed that along with education, students must develop good values and understand their responsibilities towards society.
He called upon the students to contribute towards strengthening the unity, integrity and brotherhood of the country. He said the new generation should draw inspiration from the sacrifices of freedom fighters and play its role in the development of the nation. He also appealed to students to rise above caste, religion and regional differences and give the highest priority to national interest.
School Principal Rajesh Kumar welcomed the Chief Guest and said that Prof. Manoj Kapoor has made significant contributions to the field of education. His experience and achievements are an inspiration for students.
Extending Independence Day greetings to all students and staff, the Principal said that the country’s freedom was the result of the sacrifice and dedication of millions of freedom fighters.
The cultural programme added patriotic and festive colours to the function. Following Saraswati Vandana, students presented an impressive choreography on patriotic songs and a folk dance based on the festival of Teej. The performances were highly appreciated by the audience.
The programme was compered by student Shraddha in a dignified and impressive manner. The function concluded with enthusiastic slogans of “Jai Hind, Jai Bharat.”
