Childrens competitions held at Sahungra under Gurbani Santhiya Gurmat Prachar
Saroya/Nawanshahr:- The fifth Bal Sambal Gurmat Samagam of the Gurbani Santhiya Gurmat Prachar Lehar Nawanshahr of the Bani composed in Sahib e Kamal Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji concluded today at Gurdwara Sri Singh Sabha Sahungra. This event was organized with the support of all NRIs and Gurdwara Management Committee. Giving information about this, Bhai Harjinder Singh said that this event was held for three days from June 1 to June 6 in memory of the martyrs of the 1984 Ghallughara Diwas and turned out to be memorable.
Boys and girls from different villages had arrived to participate with full enthusiasm. They participated in the turban competition, dumala decoration competition and a written competition of information paper related to Sikh history. Among them, in the turban competition, Karanvir Singh Torowal won first place, Taranjot Singh Ranewal second place, Sahib Singh Ranewal third place, in the Dumala Sahib competition, Ran Fateh Singh Sahungra won first place, Mansirat Kaur Ranewal second place, Gurbaz Singh Mallpur third place.
After this, the written paper competition was held among children aged 5 to 10 years. Among them, Jasleen Kaur Mahindpur won first place, Fateh Singh Bharapur second place, Navjot Kaur Mallpur third place and children aged 11 to 18 years Gurjot Kaur daughter of Pardeep Singh Mallpur won first place, Mankirat Singh son of Inder Singh Sikanderpur second place, Khushpreet Kaur daughter of Jaswinder Singh Mahindpur third place. All these children were honored with a token of honor.
Addressing today's event, Jathedar Piara Singh, President of the Gurdwara Management Committee, thanked the children and said that we should connect our children with Gurbani so that these children grow up tomorrow and live a drug-free life and become the owners of high and pure thoughts. He also inspired the children to follow the Guru. After this, the current Sarpanch of village Sahungra, Dr. Harbhajan Singh, said in his address that most of this effort is due to our brother, Lakhvir Singh Khela, a resident of Canada.
He requested our Panchayat sitting abroad and the very intelligent brothers and sisters of the village who love Sikhism by calling or contacting the families of those children through any medium possible to be a part of this effort to save the children from the evil scourge of drugs. To which the intelligent people of our village responded lovingly and gave their support to make the future of their children bright and to follow the Guru. Today we thank Veer Lakhvir Singh Khela, a resident of Canada, and all the other wise brothers and sisters of the village for making this venture a success.
On this occasion, Jathedar Satnam Singh Sahungra, Mohan Singh, Giani Gurbachan Singh, Granthi Balbir Singh, Jujhar Singh Khela, Jathedar Satnam Singh Gulpur, Talwinder Singh Amman, Maninder Singh, Kamaldeep Singh Rakasan, Sant Baba Sarabjit Singh Moila Wahid Pur Wale, Bikkar Singh, Satnam Singh Khela, Jujhar Singh Sohal, Nirmal Singh, Baba Ranjit Singh, Sukhjinder Singh Kaka, Gurdev Singh Bindra, along with the children's mothers, fathers and the village community participated in this event in large numbers.
