BSP to contest Punjab Assembly elections alone Mayawati

Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) National President Mayawati stated on Tuesday that her party would contest the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections on its own, without forming an alliance with anyone. The former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh made this announcement during a meeting held at the BSP's central office here to review the party's organizational activities and efforts to expand its support base in Punjab.
According to a party statement, Mayawati said that, just as in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, the BSP would contest the Punjab elections "alone, without any alliance or agreement with anyone." She explained that the decision aims to protect the morale of party workers from potential losses in seats and vote share that often result from electoral alliances.
Mayawati emphasized that the party should field hardworking and honest candidates so that people disillusioned with the "anti-people attitude" of the Aam Aadmi Party, Congress, and BJP could benefit from the Ambedkarite policies of "Sarvajan Hitay, Sarvajan Sukhay" (welfare and happiness for all).
She remarked that such an electoral strategy would serve as a "true tribute" to Saint Guru Ravidas, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, and BSP founder Kanshi Ram. Mayawati instructed the Punjab unit to strengthen the party organization down to the polling booth level and expand its support base.
She directed party leaders to identify shortcomings based on feedback regarding previously issued organizational instructions and to rectify them within a set timeframe.
The BSP chief also instructed the Punjab unit to ensure the successful and well-prepared organization of events marking the death anniversary of party founder Kanshi Ram, which falls on October 9.
