Brahmin Kalyan Sabha protests burning of Manusmriti copies demands impartial inquiry

Santoshgarh/Una, September 3: Office bearers of the Brahmin Kalyan Sabha, Santoshgarh, held a crucial meeting in the town today to strongly protest the alleged burning of copies of the *Manusmriti* during a demonstration in Una. The Sabha officials demanded that the police administration conduct an impartial inquiry into the matter and take appropriate legal action against the individuals involved if the allegations are proven true.
The Sabha officials allege that during a recent protest in Una, certain office bearers associated with the Youth Congress allegedly burned copies of the *Manusmriti* in public. According to the Sabha, the *Manusmriti* is an ancient text central to Hindu religious and social traditions, and the public burning of its copies has hurt the religious sentiments of a section of Hindu society.
The complaint further alleges that the slogans raised and statements made during the protest could foster division within society along caste and religious lines. The Sabha expressed apprehension that such acts could disrupt social harmony and create tension between different communities.
The Brahmin Kalyan Sabha has urged the police administration to impartially examine videos, photographs, social media posts, and other available evidence related to the protest. They demanded that if the allegations are substantiated, a case be registered against the concerned individuals and action taken in accordance with the law.
The Sabha officials also urged the administration to take necessary preventive measures in the future regarding incidents that risk hurting religious sentiments or disturbing social harmony. Given the gravity of the matter, the Sabha demanded a swift investigation and appropriate action from the police administration.
