Awareness Workshop on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Held in Una
Una, August 29: An awareness workshop under the 'Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan' (Drug-Free India Campaign) was organized at the Kalyan Bhawan auditorium in Una. The event was held through the collaborative efforts of the District Welfare Officer (Una), the Himachal Gyan Vigyan Samiti, and the Himachal Forum Against Drug Abuse, under the aegis of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment and the Dr. Manmohan Singh Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration.
Representatives from the Education Department, Panchayat bodies, Industries Department, Police Department, and Health Department participated in the workshop. Detailed discussions were held on making society drug-free and raising awareness among the public about the adverse effects of substance abuse.
Members of the Himachal Gyan Vigyan Samiti—Satyavan Pundir, Dr. Ravi Bhushan, and Sumitra Chandel—shared vital information regarding drug prevention. They provided insights into the harmful effects of drugs, preventive measures, and effective strategies to foster awareness within the community.
On this occasion, District Welfare Officer (Una) Awas Pandit also sensitized the attendees to the ill effects of drug abuse and emphasized the need for collective efforts to build a drug-free and healthy society.
Furthermore, the participants pledged to work together to spread awareness against drug abuse and keep the youth away from drugs.
