ASHA Workers to Hold Protest in MohaliChandigarh on September 8

Mamdoto/Ferozepur, September 7:- A meeting of the ASHA Workers and Facilitators Union was held at the Civil Hospital, Mamdoto, under the leadership of District President Laxmi Bai. The meeting discussed preparations for the major protest to be held in Mohali-Chandigarh on September 8 by the Joint Front of Mid-Day Meal Workers and ASHA workers.
Laxmi Bai said that the Punjab Government has still not fulfilled its election promises, due to which there is anger among the workers. According to the leaders, it is becoming increasingly difficult to make ends meet on a meagre honorarium/salary amid rising inflation.
The meeting demanded that ASHA workers be given the same pay scale as permanent employees of the Punjab Government. They also demanded that the honorarium be doubled immediately.
