AntiDengue Campaign Civil Surgeon visits Government School of Sohana
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, 3 September:- Under the anti-dengue campaign being run by the Health Department, teams today conducted checking in various government and private schools. Under the leadership of Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain, teams inspected places in schools where there was a possibility of water accumulation. Where water was stagnant, medicine was sprayed. Teams checked pots, coolers, fridges and other containers and appealed to teachers and students not to let water stagnate anywhere.
Dr. Jain herself visited Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Sohana. She was accompanied by Senior Medical Officer of Primary Health Center Gharuan Dr. Preet Mohan Singh and District Epidemiologist Dr. Anamika Soni. In her address, the Civil Surgeon said that in the present weather there is full possibility of breeding of mosquitoes responsible for dengue fever, therefore more alertness is needed. She told the students to ensure that apart from school, they do not let water accumulate anywhere in their house and neighbourhood. It is noteworthy that during checking, mosquito larva was not found anywhere in this school.
Dr. Anamika Soni said that this campaign is going on in the entire district. Along with officials, other staff are going house to house conducting surveys, and action of issuing challans is also being taken. During the survey, containers, pots, coolers, fridges, boxes and other items are being checked. She said that the larva of the mosquito that spreads dengue fever takes the form of a dangerous mosquito within a few days which can even take a person's life. The mosquito that spreads dengue fever bites during the day and breeds in clean water. Testing and treatment of dengue is free in government health institutions. **Symptoms of dengue fever
Dengue is a fever that occurs due to the bite of a mosquito named Aedes aegypti. Common symptoms of dengue include severe headache and high fever, pain in muscles and joints, pain in the back part of the eye, bleeding from nose, mouth and gums when condition worsens, nausea and vomiting etc.
