A meeting of the Sudhar Sabha Shri Kedar Nath Ji Regd was held in 1852 AD at the feet of Lord Shiva in the old temple built by the Maharaja of Patiala
Patiala: As every year, this year too, a meeting of the Sudhar Sabha Shri Kedar Nath Ji Regd. was held in 1852 AD at the feet of Lord Shiva in the old temple built by the Maharaja of Patiala. With his blessings, a large crowd gathered at the meeting to celebrate Maha Shivratri. Since then, the Sudhar Sabha has been celebrating Tarosadi (monthly Shivratri) every month. Every month, after the women's kirtan (devotional singing), a community meal (Bhandara) is organized with the cooperation of the devotees.
All the members have given their full support and have urged more and more devotees to serve in the community kitchen (Langar). A large quantity of prasad (offerings) including Kadhi Chawal, Aloo Tikki, fasting kheer, fruits, cold drinks, kheer, jalebi, and churma will be served in the Langar. Satnam Hasija says that the name of the Sudhar Sabha was given by Lord Shiva himself.
The old priests of the temple, Shri Kedar Nath Ji and Shri Ashwani Pandit Ji, said that festivals are celebrated every time, but since the installation of the large idol, the number of devotees visiting the temple has increased significantly. The inside of the temple has been painted and chandeliers have been installed. There were idols before, but now an idol of Vishnu and Lakshmi has also been installed.
The old temple had whitewash on the outside, but now it has been painted and renovated, and it glows brightly at night with lights. Anyone passing by on the road is awakened by the sight of the temple and bows down in reverence. The devotion of the devotees has increased, and the number of people dancing in the temple has also increased significantly.
The number of children has also increased considerably due to the installation of swings in the temple. Children come to swing and offer prayers at the temple, and they are also given sweets and other offerings. Priests Narinder Pandit and Ajay Pandit Ji said that with the support of the devotees and the family of Satnam Hasija Ji, someone or the other is serving kheer prasad, khichdi prasad, chole prasad, and fruit prasad every day. The development work related to festivals in War, which hadn't been completed in the last 300 months, has now been accomplished by the reform committee and devotees in just 27 months. Festivals like Dussehra, Tulsi Vivah, and Gurupurab, in particular, are celebrated with great pomp and show.
