Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, September 29: The District Health Department has again appealed to the people not to let water accumulate anywhere in and around their homes and to wear clothes that cover the body completely.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain and District Epidemiologist Dr. Anamika Soni said that everyone needs to be aware and take precautions to protect themselves from deadly fevers like dengue. The Civil Surgeon appealed to the residents of the district to cooperate in the prevention of dengue and said that the district can be made dengue-free only with the help of the people.
He said that the District Health Department is doing its best to prevent dengue but the people also need to support the department in this campaign. For any kind of information, the helpline number 104 of the Health Department can be contacted.
The officials said that if for some reason dengue fever occurs, there is no need to panic. The patient should be brought to a government health institution where dengue testing and treatment are absolutely free. They said that usually during all types of fever, platelets in the body decrease. Goat milk, kiwi fruit or coconut water are not particularly helpful in increasing platelets.
The patient should consume fluids like water, juice, lemon water, coconut water etc. as much as possible and rest. At least two liters of water should be consumed daily, which is also beneficial for a normal healthy person. While fluids do not allow the body to become dehydrated, they also provide essential nutrients to the body.
Health officials said that the teams of the district health department are fully committed to protecting people from this disease and preventing its spread. These teams have been going to high-risk areas and other areas to conduct investigations. He said that a check-up and awareness campaign is going on in all the villages and cities under the health blocks of the district on a war footing.
