Chandigarh- Bibi Satwant Kaur, Chairperson of the newly formed Panjika Council, told the media that the council's primary objective is to unite political, social, and religious groups dedicated to the Panth under the sacred guidance of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. She emphasized that all these factions must work together for the upliftment of the Panth and Punjab.
This initiative is being rapidly progressed in accordance with Panthic sentiments. Bibi Ji stated that the Panthic Council has been formed to protect and act as a guardian of the broader interests of the Panth and Punjab. She appealed to political and religious organizations to abandon personal ambitions and unite for the welfare of the Panth. This unity is essential to strengthen the political power of the Panth and Punjab and to build a strong platform in accordance with the spirit of the Hukamnama Sahib issued from Sri Akal Takht Sahib on December 2, 2024.
Bibi Ji stated that Sikh politics in Punjab is currently in a very delicate state, with power fragmented among numerous factions. In such circumstances, it is impossible for any single party to provide politically acceptable leadership for the Panth and Punjab. Therefore, she appealed to all Panthic political parties, religious organizations, intellectuals, and service institutions dedicated to the Panth and Punjab to unite and face this challenge.
Some political parties are attempting to weaken Panthic power and diminish the importance of Punjab. At this time, it is the moral responsibility of all Panthic factions in Punjab to unite and counter this trend. The Panthic Council is committed to strengthening this unity and will regularly make sincere efforts to do so.
Given the human rights violations and intellectual attacks on the unique identity of the Panth by the current government and its police administration, it is imperative that the dedicated factions of the Panth and Punjab come together.
As a humble daughter of the Panth and a dedicated member of the Panthic Council, which represents millions of people in the Sikh community and Punjabi society, I humbly request all Panthic factions to come forward positively, keeping in mind the broader interests of the Panth.
To this end, all true Panthic factions are requested to send their valuable suggestions regarding the challenges facing the Panth and Punjab to the Panthic Council's email address: [email protected]
