100 percent of the wheat reached in the markets has been purchased so far

Hoshiarpur - All 231746 metric tons of wheat (100 percent) reached in the markets till last evening has been purchased in the district markets. Giving this information, Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said that direct payment of Rs 486.46 crore has been made in the farmers' accounts of the purchased crops. The Deputy Commissioner said that till now 105552 metric tons of wheat have been lifted in the markets. Which is 58 percent according to 72 hours.

He said that wheat is being purchased smoothly and uninterruptedly in all the 74 mandis of the district. He said that currently Pangrain is the leader in terms of procurement and 64838 metric tons of wheat has been procured so far. Similarly, 51909 metric tons of wheat has been purchased by Markfed, 37316 by Pansap, 33195 by Punjab State Warehouse Corporation, 18660 by FCI and 5828 metric tons by traders. He said that keeping in mind the weather conditions, guidelines have been issued to the officials regarding necessary arrangements. The Deputy Commissioner said that one grain of wheat will be bought in the markets. He said that keeping in mind the convenience of the farmers, all the arrangements have been made in the mandis.
He appealed to the farmers and said that the crops should be brought to the markets only after they are completely dried and that the crops should not be harvested with combines at night. He said that by harvesting wheat with combines in the evening, the combines also cut the moist crop, due to which the amount of moisture in the crop increases. He appealed to the farmers to save the environment from pollution by not burning wheat waste and grain.
