Amritsar, July 5 - Expressing concern over the decision of the Panj Pyare Sahib of Takht Sri Patna Sahib to declare Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal a salaried person, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has termed it as an action that creates confusion in the Panth and goes beyond its rights.
He said that the traditions and customs of the Khalsa Panth are for solving the issues of the community, not for creating a national crisis. He said that it is not appropriate to ignore the supremacy of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and such trends will create an atmosphere of chaos within the community.
He said that although Takht Sri Patna Sahib is highly respected in the Sikh world, only Sri Akal Takht Sahib has the right to consider Panthic matters. Advocate Dhami said that there has been a long historical tradition of five Singh Sahibs sitting together and taking decisions under the leadership of Sri Akal Takht Sahib on any Panthic matter.
