Chandigarh, October 6 - Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini, during his visit to Japan, today met with the Governor of Shimane Prefecture Tatsuya Maruyama. During this, there was a detailed discussion on technology exchange, innovation and exploring new opportunities for joint ventures between the enterprises of both the regions.
After this, the Chief Minister also participated in the Haryana-Shimane Prefecture Road Show organized in Tokyo. Addressing the industrialists and investors present here, the Chief Minister said that our relations with Japan are thousands of years old. These relations are historical and emotional. Just as Shimane has its own long-standing traditions, similarly Haryana is also one of the oldest and most revered places of Indian civilization. Haryana itself is home to the sacred land of Dharmakhetra-Kurukshetra, where centuries ago Lord Krishna delivered the divine message of the Gita. It embodies the essence of responsibility, religion and knowledge.
He said that our mutual relationship is one of special strategic and global partnership. It has been strengthened by deep trust, democratic principles and unwavering enterprise. The last two Prime Ministers, Shri Narendra Modi, have visited Japan. After that, industrialists and investors have expressed their commitment to invest 10 trillion Japanese yen in India in the next decade. He said that considering the unique system of Haryana, maximum investment should be made in the state as well.
Haryana has long been Japan's most trusted industrial center in India
The Chief Minister said that Shimane and Haryana complement each other in many respects. Both have a proud heritage of embracing quality, purity and innovation. From robust industrial parks and smart infrastructure to green energy and logistics facilities, Shimane and Haryana have a rich heritage. Haryana has long been Japan's most sought-after industrial region in India. Its foundation was laid decades ago when Maruti Suzuki set up its first manufacturing plant in Haryana in the 1980s. It revolutionised the mobility sector in India and created a world-class industrial ecosystem. He said that today, Haryana is home to many Japanese companies. The number of them is the highest compared to any other state in India. It has emerged as a home away from home hub for culture, entrepreneurship and innovation. He said that Haryana lies on three sides of the country's national capital, Delhi. State-of-the-art infrastructure like Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway and an integrated multi-modal logistics hub provide unparalleled connectivity in this region. This ensures seamless access of products to the country’s markets.
Shri Naib Singh Saini said that the Haryana Government has implemented an investor-friendly policy. It has focused on all the sectors in which the Haryana-Shimane partnership will gain strength. Its advanced manufacturing includes electronics and components, with special emphasis on electric vehicles, battery storage, and green hydrogen in the automotive sector. Haryana’s young and skilled workforce in digital technologies and industry will collaborate with Shimano’s innovative capabilities in AI, IoT, and robotics.
