Hoshiarpur- The District Legal Services Authority is organizing the third National Lok Adalat of the year in the district on September 13, 2025, as per the guidelines of Punjab State Legal Services Authority SAS Nagar.
Giving this information, District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman District Legal Services Authority Rajinder Agarwal said that in this Lok Adalat, cases of NI Act under Section 138, (pending and pre-litigation bank recovery cases and labor dispute cases), MACT cases, electricity and water bills (except non-compoundable), matrimonial disputes, traffic challans, revenue cases and other civil, less serious criminal cases, compoundable cases and domestic disputes etc. will be kept.
In order to resolve maximum number of cases in this Lok Adalat, judicial officers are organizing pre-Lok Adalats in the courts, so that those whose cases are pending in the courts can get the benefit of Lok Adalat.
He said that in the appeals pending in the District and Sessions Judge's court since 2017-2018, in which the disputes of the parties were pending in different courts since 2009-2010, the disputes of the parties were also resolved by mutual consent, due to which both the parties considered themselves winners and happily resolved the dispute. Similarly, the remaining courts of Hoshiarpur district are also trying to resolve the disputes through conciliation by organizing pre-Lok Adalats.
He appealed to the general public that all the parties whose civil cases or criminal compoundable cases are pending in the courts can file their respective cases in the Pre-Lok Adalat or National Lok Adalat by submitting an application to the concerned court and get their dispute settled through Lok Adalat with mutual consent.
CJM cum-Secretary District Legal Services Authority Neeraj Goyal appealed to the people to get maximum benefit by filing cases in Lok Adalats as it saves time and money. The decisions made in Lok Adalats are final and there is no appeal against the decision made in Lok Adalat, this increases love between both the parties.
Apart from this, any person can apply for mediation to resolve any domestic problem, the case of which is not being resolved in court, at their office, Room No. 58, New District and Sessions Court Complex, Mediation and Conciliation Center, Hoshiarpur, in which both the parties will be called and the dispute will be resolved amicably.
