
Three-Day Workshop on 'Audio-Visual Teaching Aids' Concludes at Government College of Education, Chandigarh
Chandigarh: A three-day workshop on Audio-Visual Teaching Aids was successfully conducted from July 23 to July 25, 2025, by the Skill-in-Teaching Committee of Government College of Education, Sector 20-D, Chandigarh. The program was held under the dynamic leadership of Principal Dr. Sapna Nanda and the efficient coordination of Dr. Meena, Convener of the Skill-in-Teaching Committee.

The objective of the workshop was to equip prospective teachers with practical skills in using a variety of audio-visual tools and techniques in their teaching practices. With the aim of making classroom instruction more interactive, engaging, and learner-centric, the sessions focused on the integration of audio-visual teaching aids across various school subjects.
Key speakers included:
-Dr. Navneet Kad, Assistant State Project Director (Quality Education), who shared insights on the role of digital tools in achieving quality education standards.
-Mr. Kirandeep Singh, a national award-winning mathematics teacher, who demonstrated innovative and cost-effective uses of teaching aids in mathematics classrooms.
-Mr. Jisoo Jaskanwar Singh, Head of the Department of Education at the Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), Panjab University, who emphasized the importance of media literacy and technology integration in teacher education.
-Prof. M.S. Marwah, former Principal of Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Chandigarh, and Mr. Raj Kumar, who enriched the sessions with their vast academic experience and practical instructional strategies.
A total of 103 B.Ed. Semester III student-teachers enthusiastically participated in the workshop. The workshop provided a valuable platform for these future educators to explore the pedagogical potential of visual and auditory stimuli in enhancing student engagement and comprehension.
The workshop concluded on a high note, reaffirming the college’s commitment to promoting innovative teaching methodologies aligned with the demands of 21st-century classrooms.
