Lalru/S.A.S.Nagar, July 26, 2025: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann, under the "War Against Drugs" campaign, the Punjab Government is conducting a "Nasha Mukti Yatra" in the wards of various villages/cities of the district by the constituency MLAs under the "Nasha Mukti Yatra" campaign in every district of Punjab, in which members of village level defence committees, municipal councilors of the wards, respected persons and a large number of people are participating and taking a pledge to make Punjab drug free. After completing the Nasha Mukti Yatra in the villages of the constituency, MLA Derabassi has now started the Nasha Mukti Abhiyan in the wards of the urban area. Meanwhile, under the leadership of Constituency MLA, Derabassi, Kuljit Singh Randhawa, today at Lalru in Derabassi constituency, Ward No. 7,8, Bahawalpuri, Dharamshala, Ward No. 9, Dharamshala, Near Gurdwara Sahib, Village Dahir, Ward No. 10, Dharamshala Village Magra, Ward No. 11 and 14, Harijan Dharamshala, during the ‘Nasha Mukti Yatra’, people were made aware of drugs.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that making the society drug-free is not the job of any one person. Every section of the society should contribute its due share to eliminate drugs. He told women, youth and students that we should all participate in this campaign with full enthusiasm. Any information shared by any person under this drug-free campaign can prove valuable for the administration and the younger generation. MLA Randhawa said that drugs are such a swamp, in which it is the duty of each of us to get out the person trapped. Every youth needs to be saved from drugs. He said that now at the ward level of Derabassi constituency, a village The Defense Committees have taken a pledge to make their respective villages drug-free while fulfilling their full responsibility. 
No ward member wants his ward or any youth of the ward to be involved in selling or consuming drugs. Addressing the gathering of people gathered in different wards of Lalru during the drug-free journey, MLA Randhawa appealed to the people and youth to stay away from drugs and play an active role in freeing the society from this evil. 
On this occasion, all the people present took a pledge not to do drugs, to create awareness to avoid drugs and to help drug addicts in getting rid of drugs.
