S.A.S. Nagar, July 2, 2025: It is mandatory for beneficiaries availing wheat under the Smart Ration Card Scheme in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district to get eKYC done for all family members registered in their card. Earlier the last date for getting eKYC done was June 30, which is now till July 5.
According to District Food Supply Controller Dr. Navreet, now the government has started facial recognition through MERA (MERA eKYC App), with this, beneficiaries can do eKYC for themselves and their family members sitting at home through their smart phones.
The District Food and Supply Controller appealed to the beneficiaries to ensure that they get eKYC done by July 5 by coordinating with their nearest ration depot holder or through (MERA eKYC App). He said that eKYC. In case of absence, smart ration card holders may be deprived of getting the benefit of wheat during the next wheat crop cycle. 
Therefore, they should immediately get eKYC done by July 5 and ensure their benefit. He said that the aim of the state government is that no beneficiary should be deprived of wheat.
