Hisar:– BJP Hansi Mandal President and District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee member Tanuj Khurana welcomed the decision to increase the Chief Minister's Marriage Shagun Scheme and said, "This decision is a milestone in the direction of empowerment of the poor and needy.
Our government does not just make promises, it shows by working on the ground." The BJP government led by Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini has once again proved its commitment towards the weaker sections of the society.
Under the Chief Minister's Marriage Shagun Scheme, now the daughters of poor and needy families will get a financial assistance of Rs 51,000 at the time of marriage. Earlier this amount was Rs 41,000, which has now been increased by Rs 10,000 to Rs 51,000.
Tanuj Khurana said that families whose annual income is up to Rs 1.80 lakh will be eligible for this scheme. Under the scheme, registration within 6 months of marriage is mandatory.
He said that under this scheme, eligible families of Scheduled Caste, Vimukta Caste and Tapriwas community will be given assistance of Rs 71,000. Widows, divorced, orphans and destitute women will get assistance of Rs 51,000 on remarriage (if the benefit of the scheme has not been taken earlier). If both the newly married couple are disabled, then they will also be given a shagun amount of Rs 51,000.
Tanuj Khurana said, "This scheme realizes the basic mantra of Prime Minister Narendra Modi 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas'."
Marriage registration within 6 months of marriage is mandatory for this scheme. For application, apply online on the official portal shadi.edisha.gov.in.
