In this regard, Deputy Director of District Youth Services Patiala Dilwar Singh is making efforts to train NSS volunteers of schools in disaster management, civil defence, first aid, fire safety. Dilwar Singh trained the NSS volunteers through Kaka Ram Verma.
Kaka Ram Verma said that during wars and disasters when it is difficult to reach hospitals, the youth and citizens who take training in civil defence, first aid, fire safety, home nursing do a very commendable job to save precious lives and property. If trained youth and citizens form disaster management teams and conduct mock drills in their homes, families and neighboring colonies, then during an emergency, victims can be saved by providing first aid and home nursing.
Kaka Ram Verma said that every student, teacher, citizen, employee, householder should become a civil defense volunteer, get training and come forward to help in the protection and rescue of their area. Dilwar Singh said that during wars, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji had saved thousands of injured soldiers from death by forming teams through Bhai Ghanayya Ji and providing first aid.
After the First World War, civil defense training programs were started in the world to train citizens through the humanitarian mission of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji so that helpful friends could be prepared for the administration and soldiers during wars, epidemics, disasters. That is why the government is preparing the second defense line to help the youth during emergencies.
