MLA Kulwant Singh from Mohali said that to create a healthy society, there is a need to bring out the youth trapped in the quagmire of drugs, for which the government is continuously making concrete efforts and taking strict action against drug smugglers. The youth who want to quit drugs are being treated, during this time vocational courses are also being conducted for them, so that they can work hard and feed themselves and their families.
MLA Kulwant Singh said that the youth, children and especially women of the villages where he is getting a chance to visit under this campaign are moving forward in the campaign against drugs started by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. Everyone is contributing to this campaign in their own way, so that the youth can be diverted towards sports instead of drugs. He said that any campaign or scheme started by the government can be implemented in true sense only when the people of the state take initiative in it and we are satisfied that people, especially the youth, are seen taking initiative in the campaign against drugs.
MLA Kulwant Singh said that the campaign against drugs will continue and the youth will continue to be made aware of it. He said that such a happy environment will be provided for the youth in Punjab, so that they themselves join this campaign as an encouragement. For this, the elected representatives of the villages - Panchayat members are fully supporting them. MLA Kulwant Singh said that the Panchayats which are running war against drugs at their own level in the villages, such decisions of such Panchayats will give permanent advice to others as well.
