Chandigarh, July 13: Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, Chandigarh and Punjabi Film and TV Actors Association (PAFTA) organized a discussion on the topic "Social and Economic Relevance of Punjabi Cinema and Contribution of Literature" at Punjab Kala Bhawan. The event was presided over by renowned film director Dr. Harjit Singh, while renowned actor and PAFTA General Secretary BN Sharma was the chief guest. 
Shivinder Mahal and Bharat Bhushan Verma were present as special guests. Malkit Rauni and Dr. Jatinder Singh shared their views as the main speakers. The speakers said that cinema is a selfless instrument of social change and good cinema is always inspired by literature. Malkit Rauni said that literature has always laid the foundation for good cinema. 
On this occasion, Parminder Singh Madan and Gurmeet Singh were honored for their services. Captain Narinder Singh presented his books to the guests. At the end of the ceremony, Senior Vice President of the Sabha, Pal Ajnabi, expressed the vote of thanks.
