International Yoga Day has been started in the state from May 27, 2025 by running a cleanliness campaign. Yoga classes have started for the management of June 21.

When Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi proposed Yoga in the UNO, 177 countries gave their consent to it and Yoga, which came out of our land, has reached every person in the world. The Prime Minister has done the work of spreading the Yoga system throughout the world.
He said that the program of International Yoga Day in Kurukshetra will be historic and magnificent. Yoga is not the program of any one person or one idea. Yoga is our old ideology. The sages have gifted us yoga and meditation. Doing yoga keeps a person healthy.
Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini was addressing a meeting organized with institutions on International Yoga Day at the auditorium of Multiart Culture Center Kurukshetra today.
The Chief Minister requested the officials of institutions, NGOs, business organizations and other organizations present in the meeting to play their role to make the program a success. He also asked Patanjali Yog Peeth to take the invitation of yoga to every home in the city.
Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini said that the work of taking yoga to the country and the world has been done by Rishi Swami Ramdev. The arrival of Baba Ramdev on June 21 in Kurukshetra, the land of Lord Shri Krishna, is a matter of great pride for the people of Kurukshetra.
He said that this year the theme of International Yoga Day is One Earth, One Health, while the Haryana government has also associated it with Yoga-rich, drug-free Haryana.
The Chief Minister said that people rush to take medicine to cure minor ailments, while those ailments can be cured with Yoga. Therefore, we should all adopt Yoga.
He said that if we want to save our youth from drugs, then they will have to adopt Yoga. Yoga increases our willpower.
Appealing to the residents of Kurukshetra, the Chief Minister said that on June 21, they should leave their sleep and reach Brahmasarovar and Mela Ground at 4 am and register their presence in this great festival of Yoga.
He said that they should involve maximum people in this campaign and work to fulfill the responsibility given to them with prominence.
He said that this is not just Yoga Day but a Mela. Just as we celebrate festivals like Diwali, Holi, Bhai Dooj, this International Yoga Day should also be celebrated in the same way.

Area divided into 103 sectors for state level program
Regarding this program, it was informed that Brahmasarovar and Mela Ground have been divided into 103 sectors. Out of these, 64 sectors have been made in Brahmasarovar and 37 sectors in Mela Ground and nearby areas. Arrangements have been made to do yoga for one thousand seekers in each sector.

The Chief Minister administered oath to the institutions, NGOs and other people present in the auditorium to definitely adopt yoga, pranayama and meditation in their lives, stay away from drugs and motivate others to do the same. Apart from this, he also motivated them to propagate yoga in their family, society and workplace.

Former State Santri Shri Subhash Sudha said that the International Yoga Day program on June 21 is a matter of great pride for the people of Kurukshetra. This program will be seen all over the world. He promised that citizens from every home of the city will participate in this program. He also demanded the Chief Minister to open a meditation center in the city.

10 lakh yoga seekers of the state will plant herbal plants - Dr. Jaideep Arya
Chairman of the Yoga Aayog Dr. Jaideep Arya said that on June 21, environment protection through yoga is being started from Kurukshetra. He said that 10 lakh yoga seekers of the state will plant herbal plants and more than 1 lakh people will create a world record by doing yoga together in Kurukshetra.
