
Students of Government High Smart School, Desu Majra were made aware about the 'War Against Drugs' movement and traffic rules.
SAS Nagar, May 14, 2025: Under the guidance of SSP Mohali and as per the directions of SP Traffic, Mohali Navneet Mahal, DSP Traffic, Mohali Karnail Singh gave detailed information about the 'War Against Drugs' movement to the students of Government High Smart School, Desu Majra. He said that while drug addiction harms the individual, it is also fatal for the family, society and the country. He motivated the students to stay away from drugs and take interest in sports along with studies and work for the development of the state and the country by staying healthy.

He said that while drug addiction harms the individual, it is also fatal for the family, society and the country. He motivated the students to stay away from drugs and take interest in sports along with studies and work for the development of the state and the country by staying healthy.
Apart from this, he gave detailed information about traffic rules. He also asked to pay attention to following all the traffic rules. He motivated the students to become heroes of road safety. He emphasized on wearing ISI marked helmets by both the scooter driver and the pillion rider.
He appealed to follow traffic lights, not to drive under influence of alcohol, not to drive vehicles under 18 years of age, lane driving, not to use pressure horns, park vehicles properly instead of parking them on the road, use indicators while turning left or right, not to burst crackers on bullet-motorcycles intentionally and also told that it is very important to wear seat belt while riding a four wheeler and its violation is not only punishable but also fatal.
He said that use of mobile phone while driving distracts attention, which is the main cause of accidents. Information about helpline number 112 was also given for getting help from police and giving help. On this occasion, students were also given correct information about stop, no entry, school zone, sign board and road marking in school. Detailed discussion was also held on using zebra crossing for pedestrians and being careful while crossing the road. On this occasion, the entire staff was present and school in-charge Rajkamal welcomed the valuable views of DSP Traffic Karnail Singh and hoped that he would come to the school in future too and continue to inspire the students to become good citizens of the country. Mithu, a student of class 9, was also inspired by this seminar and shared her views. Zone in-charge Traffic Shri Ombir Singh was also present on this occasion.
