SAS Nagar, May 13-Former Health Minister and senior Congress leader Balbir Singh Sidhu has said that the death of 15 people due to spurious liquor in Majitha, Amritsar is clearly a result of the Aam Aadmi Party's negligence, incompetence and connivance with the illicit liquor mafia.
Mallaying serious allegations against the Mann government, he said that this is the third time during the three-year tenure of the Aam Aadmi Party government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann that spurious liquor has claimed the lives of innocent people. This is no coincidence; it is a result of the government's negligence towards the state. The Mann government has given a free hand to the liquor mafia.
He said that the manner in which spurious liquor is being sold openly points to only one thing: either the government is in cahoots with the mafia gangs, or it has proved to be a complete failure in its duties. First Sangrur, then Sunam and now Majitha - all these incidents related to spurious liquor clearly speak of the incompetence of the Aam Aadmi Party.
He said that the very foundation of the AAP government is linked to liquor scams, whether it is Arvind Kejriwal or Manish Sisodia, everyone is in the same situation. He said that Bhagwant Mann is acting like a puppet of these two, and the visits of these former Delhi ministers to Punjab are encouraging such mafias.
He demanded that the victim families be compensated and the case be investigated and the culprits be given the harshest punishment.
