Hoshiarpur- Rotary Eye Bank and Cornea Transplant Society organized the inauguration ceremony of the new office of the society at Lala Sundar Das Kapoor Charitable Society (Mute and Deaf) Bhangi Pul, Haryana Road under the chairmanship of President and prominent social worker Sanjeev Arora. Which was formally inaugurated by former Rajya Sabha member Mr. Avinash Rai Khanna as the chief guest.
On this occasion, Mr. Khanna distributed registration cards received from Medical College Patiala to 5 people including Mr. Rakesh Dogra, Harsh Sood, Naseeb Chand, Suman Bansal, Meetha Ram, who had filled the body donation affidavit. On this occasion, Mr. Khanna said that Rotary Eye Bank is setting an example by creating awareness among people suffering from corneal blindness and those who donate their bodies, due to which people are getting a lot of benefits, especially those who are living a dark life.
On this occasion, President Sanjeev Arora and J.B. Bahl said that awareness towards eye donation and body donation is the best way to give new light to the people suffering from corneal blindness and to promote medical science and Mr. Arora said that body donation after death will help children studying medical science to do more detailed research related to human body. Therefore, the society spreads awareness towards eye donation and body donation.
Mr. Arora said that earlier people used to celebrate their happiness by planting trees. Now along with this, people have started celebrating by filling eye donation and body donation affidavits which is a very commendable act. Dr. Jameel Bali said that we do many types of donations while we are alive but this donation is done only after death and even after our death, it brightens the lives of many people. On this occasion, Dr. Jameel Bali, Veena Chopra, Madan Lal Mahajan, Avinash Sood, Professor Daljit Singh, Jasvir Kanwar, Jagdish Aggarwal, Deepak Mehndiratta, Davinder Arora, Anurag Sood, Renu Kanwar, Ashwini Dutta, Amit Nagpal, Tarun Sareen, Sharad Mehta, Tamanna, Babu and others were present.
