
District Red Cross Society distributed cheques to lucky draw winners.
Una, March 22- Cheques of prize money were distributed to the lucky draw winners drawn by the District Red Cross Society on the occasion of Republic Day-2025 at DRDA Hall Una on Saturday. District Red Cross Society Una President and Deputy Commissioner Jatin presented these cheques. During this, Renu Sherawat, President of District Red Cross Hospital Welfare Section and wife of Deputy Commissioner Una was also present.

On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that out of the lucky draw winners, only 5 people had submitted their claims in the office of the Secretary of the Red Cross Society, who have been provided cheques today. He said that the District Red Cross Society plays an important role in providing assistance to the needy and destitute persons so that they can lead a respectable life in the society.
Cooperation of various departments in coupon distribution
The Deputy Commissioner said that various government offices had cooperated in the distribution of lucky draw coupons. These include Tehsildar Office Haroli, Bangana, Regional Transport Officer Office, Deputy Director Elementary Education, Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Department Office Gagret, Assistant Registrar Cooperative Society Una, District Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Office Una, Superintending Engineer Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited Office Una, District Forest Officer Office Una, District Mining Officer Office Una and Block Development Officer Office Una. Department heads of all these offices were also honored.
Information given about Samarthya Yojana
During this, CPO Sanjay Sankhyan gave information about Samarthya Yojana being run with the joint efforts of the District Administration and Red Cross Society. He said that the objective of this scheme is to provide assistance to as many needy children as possible so that they can move towards a better future.
He said that under the Samarthya Yojana, an amount of Rs 38.50 lakh has been provided to 154 girls for marriage. Also, under the scheme, higher education is being provided to 35 needy girls. Apart from this, medical facilities have been provided to the needy people by spending Rs. 18.50 lakh. He told that under the scheme, three free yoga camps were organized in the district in which 15 thousand people were trained.
On this occasion, CPO Sanjay Sankhyan, DFSC Rajeev Sharma, BDO Una KL Verma and officers of various departments were present.
