Instead of accepting the demands of the farmers, farmers are being presented as those who block rail and roads against the farmers. This government is following the footsteps of the Modi government and is wielding the axe of atrocities on the farmers. Farmers are being taken to Chandigarh with the help of police force. They were stopped from going and more than 750 farmer leaders were locked up in police stations, cases were registered and they were put under house arrest. In the coming times, while fighting against the pro-corporate policies of the Modi government, the struggle against the Punjab government will also be intensified.
The Bhagwant Mann government will have to face strong opposition. The government should immediately implement the demands like guarantee of MSP on 6 crops, waiver of cooperative bank loans to farmers through a one-time settlement, immediate implementation of the new agricultural policy, giving jobs to the heirs of martyred farmers, etc. Apart from others, Kulveer Singh Shahpur, Jarnail Singh Ranewal, Sohan Singh Atwal, Paramjit Singh Sahabpur, Tarsem Singh Bains, Jeevan Das Begowal, Kashmira Singh, Manjit Kaur Alachour, Paramjit Kaur Mirpur Jattan, Rana Ram Ji Das, Jaskaran Singh participated in today's protest.
