Kharar/SAS Nagar, February 15, 2025: Kharar MLA Anmol Gagan Mann today inaugurated the work of laying of pipe line for drainage of rain water from Nijjar Chowk to Bariyali River and assured to complete the work in six months. He said that this project costing Rs 4.13 crore will be beneficial for the residents along with solving the problem of waterlogging during rainy season.
He said that the officials of Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board have been asked to expedite the work of three STPs being constructed in the city so that the residents of the city can get relief from the existing inadequate sewerage system. He said that the officials of the board have been asked to complete this work by December. Talking to media persons, Anmol Gagan Mann said that another important project approved by Bhagwant Mann government to solve the drinking water problem in Kharar will be allotted to the successful bidder in the first week of March.
She said that evaluation of financial bids is in process and as soon as the evaluation is completed, work order will be issued to the firm. She said that she is making every possible effort for all-round development of historical city Kharar and her entire constituency.
MLA Anmol Gagan Mann further said that rural roads could not be started due to non-release of Rural Development Fund (RDF) but now the state government is arranging funds from other sources to repair rural roads. She reiterated her commitment to fulfill all the basic needs of Kharar constituency as per the promises made to the people.
