Nawanshahr- As part of the action being taken by the Master Cadre Union Punjab, effigies of the Finance Minister and the Education Minister were burnt in Mukandpur in protest against the Finance Minister not resolving the financial demands and the Education Minister not fulfilling the accepted demands.
State General Secretary Harminder Singh Uppal, Jatinder Singh Pabla, Harmesh Guru, Baldish Lal, Sarabjit Singh, Kulwinder Kahma, Sukhwinder Singh, Kulveer Singh, Gurvinder Singh, Arvind Kumar, Gurpreet Kaur, Madam Neha, Rupinderjit Kaur, Madam Kusam, Navjot Sharma, Harvinder Kaur Mann, Madam Navita, Satnam Singh, Harpreet Singh, Madam Nidhi, Madam Neetu, Navdeep Kaur, Gurdeep Singh, Hardeep Singh, Rajinder Singh and other leaders said that the rural allowance, border allowance, ACP given to the teachers working in the villages of the state has been stopped for a long time and since the time of the previous government, a deduction of Rs 200 per month is being made in the salary of the teachers. The government is also refusing to give 2.59 multiplier, and is adopting a policy of procrastination in restoring the old pension, due to which there is a wave of anger among the teachers of Punjab.
Even after five months, no letter has been issued by the Education Minister regarding the demands accepted, such as giving 15 unexpected leaves to teachers who have worked under SSA/RMSA as per their service period, a policy of procrastination is also being adopted regarding the promotions from Master Cadre to Head Master and preparations are being made to displace the posts of Master Cadre by implementing the policy of closing middle schools.
In protest against this, a large number of Master Cadre Unions gathered and staged a dharna in front of the Main Chowk Bus Stand against the Finance Minister and Education Minister of the Punjab Government. The leaders of the Master Cadre Union said that if the Finance Minister and the Education Minister do not hold a meeting to resolve the legitimate demands of the Master Cadre Union, then the Master Cadre Union will surround the houses of these ministers after 26 January.
