Lalru, (Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar), September 2: Thanks to the efforts of MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa, the district administration today released a compensation of Rs 4 lakh under natural disaster management to the family of farmer Janak Raj, who was swept away by the fast flowing Jharmal river last week.
SDM, Derabassi Amit Gupta said that after the death of Janak Raj, the sub-division administration had sent this case to the district administration for compensation on the instructions of MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa, on which Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal took an immediate decision on humanitarian grounds and today released this compensation amount of four lakh rupees.
He said that this compensation amount has been handed over to the family of the deceased Janak Raj and if any other help is sent by the government, it will also reach the family.
MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa has expressed gratitude to the district administration and the Bhagwant Singh Mann government for standing firmly with the families facing the scourge of floods in this hour of difficulty, while also giving hope to this affected family of Lalru that if possible, employment will also be arranged for some member of the family.
