Chairman Punjab Mandi Board held a review meeting regarding development works of Mandis

Mohali, January 11, 2025- Punjab Mandi Board Chairman Mr. Harchand Singh Bursat held a review meeting with the officers of the Mandi Board regarding the development works of grain markets, fruit and vegetable markets of the state, market committees, e-NAM, increasing the income of Mandi Board, planting trees in Mandis, Kisan Bhawan Chandigarh, Kisan Haveli Sri Anandpur Sahib, Guest Houses.

Mohali, January 11, 2025- Punjab Mandi Board Chairman Mr. Harchand Singh Bursat held a review meeting with the officers of the Mandi Board regarding the development works of grain markets, fruit and vegetable markets of the state, market committees, e-NAM, increasing the income of Mandi Board, planting trees in Mandis, Kisan Bhawan Chandigarh, Kisan Haveli Sri Anandpur Sahib, Guest Houses. 
The meeting was attended by Mr. Ramvir Secretary Punjab Mandi Board, Mr. Jatinder Singh Bhanghu Engineer-in-Chief, Mr. Gurinder Singh Cheema Chief Engineer, Mr. Amandeep Singh Chief Engineer, Mr. Manjit Singh Sandhu GM, Mr. Swarn Singh DGM, Mr. Maninderjit Singh Bedi DGM, Mrs. Bhajan Kaur DGM. All the District Mandi Officers and other officers were present. During this, important decisions were taken on various issues related to the Mandis of the states. 
During the meeting, it was asked to expedite the work of installing solar systems in various Mandis of Punjab state. Under Shaheed Bhagat Singh Hariyaval Wave, more than one lakh saplings have been planted at various places including Mandis of Punjab state and it was decided to continue this campaign in the coming seasons as well. The Punjab Mandi Board has earned an income of about Rs 37 lakh 82 thousand by using cover sheds during the off season in the Mandis. 
During this, it was decided that maximum publicity should be done regarding the use of cover sheds for social programs during the off season, so that the general public can get the benefit of this effort of the Mandi Board. It was also decided in the meeting that like Kisan Bhawan Chandigarh and Kisan Haveli Sri Anandpur Sahib, renovation and online booking of guest houses located across the state of the Mandi Board will be started. 36 unipoles have been installed in the Mandis of Punjab state and the work of other 12 has been completed. 
The Chairman gave instructions to put these unipoles into use. The Chairman of the Mandi Board, while instructing the officers who had come, said that every effort should be made to immediately remove any kind of illegal encroachment in the Mandis and if any officer faces any problem in this regard in the field, it should be immediately brought to his notice. 
E-auction is being conducted till 30 January 2025 for leasing out petrol pump sites in the Mandis of Punjab. He instructed the officers who came in the meeting to take interest at personal level to develop new Mandis in view of the convenience of the farmers and the increasing inflow of commodities.
