
Progressive Writers Association to hold seminar in Nawanshahr on August 10
Nawanshahr, August 6- Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, the district unit of the world-famous Progressive Writers Association dedicated to literary creation and contemplation, and Punjabi Sahit Akademi, in collaboration with the college's Postgraduate Punjabi Department, are organizing a special seminar on the topic 'Punjabi Storytelling' at RK Arya College, Nawanshahr on August 10, 2025 at 10.00 am.
Nawanshahr, August 6- Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, the district unit of the world-famous Progressive Writers Association dedicated to literary creation and contemplation, and Punjabi Sahit Akademi, in collaboration with the college's Postgraduate Punjabi Department, are organizing a special seminar on the topic 'Punjabi Storytelling' at RK Arya College, Nawanshahr on August 10, 2025 at 10.00 am.
In this regard, Dr. Sarabjit Singh, President of the Academy and Principal Gurjant Singh, President of the District Unit of the Association, jointly informed that this seminar will be a unique initiative to discuss the creative and critical process of Punjabi storytelling in this region, which will be chaired by enlightened literary thinker Dr. Sukhdev Singh Sirsa, General Secretary, Progressive Writers Association (India).
The chief guest of the seminar will be Mr. Vinod Bhardwaj, President, Local College and Principal Puneet Aneja, Special Guest. Dr. Gurmeet Singh Kallarmajri will deliver the keynote address on the entire Punjabi story. The special achievement of this seminar will be that seven renowned Punjabi storytellers will share their creative experiences on one platform.
These storytellers will include Sarvsri Balbir Parwana, Jatinder Hans, Balwinder Grewal, Jasvir Singh Rana, Bhagwant Rasulpuri, Tripta K Singh and Sarghi Tashrif Farma. Apart from this, Professor Surjit Singh Judge, President Punjab Sangh, S. Gulzar Singh Pandher, General Secretary, Academy, Dr. Pal Kaur, Senior Vice President Academy will also be specially present. They have appealed to the teachers, writers, including Rasis and students of the area to participate in this seminar and take advantage of it while increasing our pride.
