Hoshiarpur: It has been the historical tradition of Shiromani Akali Dal that whenever external forces or governments running from Delhi tried to rob Punjab or the rights of Punjabis, then the Akali Dal has always come forward as a shield to protect the rights of Punjabis.
This was said by Shiromani Akali Dal's Jathedar of Hoshiarpur villages, district Lakhwinder Singh Lakhi while addressing an Akali Dal meeting organized under the leadership of Urban Jathedar Bikramjit Singh Kalsi.
He targeted the Kejriwal government of the Aam Aadmi Party and said that "Now Kejriwal and his associates are trying to steal farmers' land, but the Akali Dal will never allow this attempt of theirs to succeed."
Lakhwinder Singh Lakhi said that "Now the people of Punjab have understood that if anyone has done good for Punjab, it has been done only by the Akali Dal. The people have decided to get rid of this looting government soon." Sanjeev Talwar, a senior leader of the Akali Dal, said that the Shiromani Akali Dal will return in 2027 under the leadership of Sukhbir Singh Badal. He said that "until the battle for the rights of the farmers is won, no worker of the Akali Dal will sit at home."
