Workshop organized for master trainers under drug free Una campaign

Una, November 21- Under the Nasha Mukt Una campaign, a one-day training workshop was organized for the master trainers of the district at Kalyan Bhawan Una on Thursday in collaboration with the Social Justice and Empowerment Department and Gunjan Sanstha. Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal attended the workshop as the chief guest.

Una, November 21- Under the Nasha Mukt Una campaign, a one-day training workshop was organized for the master trainers of the district at Kalyan Bhawan Una on Thursday in collaboration with the Social Justice and Empowerment Department and Gunjan Sanstha. Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal attended the workshop as the chief guest.
In his address, the Deputy Commissioner said that District Una has received the honour of securing the first position at the national level for its excellent work under the Nasha Mukt Una Abhiyan. He called upon the participants of the workshop to play a decisive role against drug abuse and make people aware of its ill-effects. He said that drug abuse is a serious problem, which can be eradicated only through collective efforts.
He appealed to the parents to pay attention to the daily routine of their children and guide them to save them from the deadly problem of drug addiction. The Deputy Commissioner stressed the need for parents and teachers to remain aware of every activity and problem of children so that they can be prevented from getting misled towards drugs.
The Deputy Commissioner said that children should be encouraged to participate in sports competitions held in schools, colleges and villages. Along with this, children should spend more time with their family and elders so that they can learn from their experiences and ideas.
He said that the district administration has started the Samarthya program for the bright future of children and youth. Under this, special attention is being paid to the fitness, sports and education of children. He said that libraries have also been arranged at the district and sub-division level for the preparation of competitive examinations so that children can easily achieve their goals.
During the workshop, the Deputy Commissioner also discussed the plan to include the Nasha Mukt Una campaign in the Samarthya program. He said that this campaign will become an effective medium to bring positive change in the youth and channelize their energy in the right direction.
District Welfare Officer Anita Sharma, DPO ICDS Narendra Kumar, Tehsil Welfare Officer Jatindra Kumar, representatives of Gunjan Sanstha and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
