Una, November 4 - District Administration Una in collaboration with District Red Cross Society and State Bank of India in association with Artificial Limb Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) Chandigarh organized a one day disability assessment camp at Town Hall Una. 20 Divyangjans registered in this camp, out of which 9 eligible persons were selected for providing artificial limbs. Specialist doctors evaluated the Divyangjans and declared them eligible for this assistance. With the help of these assistive devices and artificial limbs, Divyangjans will once again be able to live a life with self-reliance and respect in the society.
The equipment provided in the camp includes motor tri-cycle, tricycle, wheelchair, hearing aid, stick and artificial limbs. Through these devices, Divyangjans will be able to carry out their daily activities easily and their life will be easy.
Camps will be organized in every sub-division of the district
Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said on this occasion that our aim is to connect the Divyangjans with the mainstream of the society and promote their self-reliance. Such camps are not only a facility but also an important step towards providing the disabled their rights. He also informed that in the same sequence, disability assessment camps will be organized in other areas of the district as well. Camps will be organized on 5 November in Haroli, 6 November in Bangana, 7 November in Amb and 8 November in Gagret, in which more disabled people will be given the benefit of this facility. Disability assessment camp will be held at RH Haroli on 5 November under Haroli sub-division. Disability assessment camps will be organized at Sub-division Bangana office under Bangana on 6 November, Panchayat Samiti Hall Amb under Amb sub-division on 7 November and at Sub-division office Gagret under Gagret on 8 November.
On this occasion, CPO Sanjay Sankhyan, Tehsil Welfare Officer Jitendra Kumar and experts from ELIMCO were present.
