Kapurthala 15th April- A meeting was organized by District Wushu Association Kapurthala at Fighter Sports Club under the leadership of District Wushu Association Kapurthala General Secretary Gurcharan Singh. In this meeting, Gurcharan Singh informed that the Fifth District Wushu (Boys and Girls) Championship 2025 is being organized on 17th April 2025 at Lyallpur Khalsa College Urban Estate Kapurthala under the leadership of Sukhdeep Singh and appealed to the players of all schools, colleges, clubs of Kapurthala district to participate in the championship with enthusiasm.
President of District Wushu Association Kapurthala and Youth Brigade Sports Welfare Board Rajiv Walia said that Wushu Championship is being organized at Khalsa College with the cooperation of Principal of Lyallpur Khalsa College Dr. Baldev Singh. He appealed to all the coaches to connect the players with recognized sports so that they can get the right platform in future.
He requested the principals and teachers of all colleges and schools to involve children in some sport or the other. He said that the players selected in this championship had participated in the Wushu State Championship. On this occasion, Professor Dr. Amrik Singh appealed to all the residents of the district to take the initiative to eliminate the evil of drug addiction from the society.
If every person of the society takes a pledge that he will not let drug addiction flourish in his locality and the youth decide that they will not let the youth get addicted to drugs, then we will definitely succeed in making the society drug free. He motivated all the players to participate enthusiastically in the District Wushu Championship.
On this occasion, coaches Awadhesh Kumar, Santokh Singh, Pratap Singh, Sanjeev, Avneet Kaur Dhaliwal, Balwinder Singh, Raj Kumar, Suraj etc. were present.
