New Delhi, Oct 26 - The Enforcement Directorate on Saturday said it has unearthed alleged irregularities following raids to probe money laundering in the "black marketing" of tickets for Diljit Dosanjh's Coldplay and Dil-Luminati shows.
The raids were conducted on Friday at 13 locations across five states - Delhi, Maharashtra (Mumbai), Rajasthan (Jaipur), Karnataka (Bangalore) and Punjab (Chandigarh). The federal agency said that generally, tickets are available on Zomato, Book My Show and other platforms, but when the demand is high, these tickets get sold out quickly, forcing people to look for alternate sources.
The ED said in a statement that the searches and investigation conducted by them have revealed information about several persons providing such tickets, including fake tickets, through social media using Instagram, WhatsApp and Telegram. It said mobile phones, laptops, SIM cards and other material used in the ticketing scam have been seized.
The ED said the aim of the raids was to probe the illegal sale of tickets, the financial network supporting these scams and to trace the proceeds of crime generated from such illegal activities.
