The women's Asian Champions competition trophy received a warm welcome on its arrival in Mohali

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, October 17:- The trophy reached Punjab today during the tour of India for the six-nation Women's Asian Champion Trophy 2024 to be held at Rajgir (Bihar) next month. Which was given a warm welcome at Mohali-based hockey Olympian Balbir Singh Senior International Hockey Stadium. This trophy has reached Punjab via Haryana from Bihar From where it further left for Bhubaneswar (Orissa) by air.

This trophy has reached Punjab via Haryana from Bihar From where it further left for Bhubaneswar (Orissa) by air.
The chief guests of the welcome ceremony led by the Sports Department Punjab, Tokyo Olympic Games medalist hockey Olympian Rupinder Pal Singh and Simarjit Singh welcomed the trophy and raised the curtain from it. Rupinder Pal Singh and Simranjit Singh said that the India tour of the trophy will give a big boost to sports and especially hockey in the whole country and will inspire new players.
Officers Chandra Kumar Singh and Mini Kumari of the Bihar Sports Department who brought the trophy thanked the Punjab Sports Department for their welcome and also gave a formal invitation letter to the people of the state for the tournament to be held from November 11 to 20 at Rajgir. From the Sports Department, Deputy Director Ranbir Singh Bhangu and District Sports Officer Mohali Rupesh Kumar Begra warmly welcomed this trophy and the accompanying members.
Mohali Hockey Association General Secretary Kulwant Rai Sota, President Thakur Onkar Lalotra, Vice President Mohan Singh Gill and Secretary Chandra Joyal appreciated this initiative from Hockey Punjab. Sports writer and Information and Public Relations Officer Navdeep Singh Gill conducted the program and highlighted the achievements of Punjab in hockey and the efforts being made by the Punjab government for sports.
 On this occasion, the hockey coach of the sports department, the hockey players took pictures with the trophy.
