
Member of Punjab State Food Commission Vijay Dutt today made a surprise visit to government schools and Anganwadi centres of Block Majri
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, October 9:- Member of Punjab State Food Commission Vijay Dutt today inspected the beneficial schemes by making a surprise visit to government schools and Anganwadi centers of different villages of Block Majri in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar. Notice was issued to the District Grievance Redressal Officer and instructions were given to take action as the complaint number of the Commission was not displayed in the schools and Anganwadi centers.
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, October 9:- Member of Punjab State Food Commission Vijay Dutt today inspected the beneficial schemes by making a surprise visit to government schools and Anganwadi centers of different villages of Block Majri in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar. Notice was issued to the District Grievance Redressal Officer and instructions were given to take action as the complaint number of the Commission was not displayed in the schools and Anganwadi centers.
Commission member Vijay Dutt expressed concern after seeing long wild herbs on the way to the Anganwadi Center of village Kartarpur in Block Majri, he said that small children come here and any snake or insect can harm the children at any time! Anganwadi helper Rajwinder Kaur said that she has told the concerned officer and the village panchayat about this many times but the cleaning has not been done yet! The commission member has issued a notice to the District Grievance Redressal Officer and has given instructions to take action against the officer of the concerned department.
Commission member Vijay Dutt checked the Government Primary Smart School of village Kartarpur, Government Primary Smart School of village Kansala, Government Middle School and Anganwadi Center, Government Elementary Smart School and Anganwadi Center of village Boothgarh, Government Primary Smart School and Anganwadi Center of village Manakpur Sharif.
Commission member Vijay Dutt instructed to maintain mid-day meal food test register in schools and provide clean food to the children and take care of cleanliness while cooking and serving food. The commission member talked to the school students regarding mid-day meal and also ate mid-day meal with the children himself. The commission member instructed that the TDS of drinking water in the school and the quality of water should be checked from time to time by the concerned department. Apart from this, the commission instructed to conduct health checkup of the students of the schools and also instructed to conduct medical checkup of mid-day meal workers! During the checking of Anganwadi centers, commission member Vijay Dutt instructed the in-charge and helpers to convey the information of the latest schemes of the government to as many beneficiaries as possible.
During the visit, the commission member directed to install the helpline number of Punjab State Food Commission in all the government schools and Anganwadi centers of the district. He said that if any beneficiary has any complaint related to the schemes of National Food Security Act, then he can register his complaint on the helpline number of the commission 9876764545.
