450 People Participated in the LivathonHearts in Action Fitness Event
Chandigarh: Approximately 450 people participated in the 'Livathon-Hearts in Action' fitness event organized by Livasa Hospital, Mohali. This event marked the launch of a 27-day fitness challenge—held in the run-up to World Heart Day—which encourages people of all ages to choose a physical activity they enjoy, practice it regularly, and make an active lifestyle a part of their daily routine.
Dr. H.K. Bali, Chairman of Cardiac Sciences at Livasa Hospitals, also participated in the event.
The event witnessed great enthusiasm, with participants of all age groups gathering for a walk and taking a pledge to lead a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, participants actively took part in Zumba sessions, step challenges, plank and push-up challenges, fitness games, and other interactive activities.
During the event, Livasa doctors emphasized the importance of making physical activity a daily habit. They explained how regular walking and exercise contribute to heart health, stamina, weight management, and overall well-being.
Participants were encouraged to work towards a goal of walking 10,000 steps a day, while it was also clarified that individual activity goals should be based on a person's age, fitness level, and health conditions. The doctors stressed that along with regular physical activity, balanced nutrition, adequate hydration, sufficient sleep, stress management, and timely preventive health check-ups are essential.
Anurag Yadav, CEO of Livasa Hospitals, stated that when 450 people from diverse age groups come together with a shared commitment to staying healthy, it sends a powerful message about the importance of disease prevention and an active lifestyle. Facility Director Dr. Abhishek Garg said, "Through 'Livathon', we aim to create awareness that translates into meaningful and long-term lifestyle changes. Today marked a great start to that journey."
