Karnal, October 7: To commemorate Lord Valmiki's birth anniversary, a grand wrestling competition was organized by the Lord Valmiki Seva Samiti in village Sambhali. Dr. Balram Sharma, Head of the Political Science Department at DAV College, Karnal, attended the event as the chief guest. Upon his arrival, the committee members welcomed him with garlands and honored him with a memento.
In his address, Chief Guest Dr. Balram Sharma said that youth should draw inspiration from the life of Lord Valmiki. He said that Lord Valmiki gave society the message of education, hard work, truth, and patriotism. His ideals are as relevant today as they were in that era.
Dr. Sharma urged youth to follow Lord Valmiki's ideals and teachings and inculcate discipline, dedication, and patriotism in their lives. Whenever the country needs youth, they should be ready to serve.
He praised the wrestling competition, saying that such traditional sports inspire enthusiasm, unity, and discipline among rural youth. Wrestling is one of our ancient sports, which not only keeps the body fit but also boosts morale.
Officials of the Bhagwan Valmiki Seva Samiti honored Dr. Balram Sharma at the event. Abhishek Kumar, Pradeep Kumar, Ashok Kumar, and Bittu, along with other prominent village figures, were present on the occasion.
