Jaito, June 17: The high-level delegation that visited America under the leadership of Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, President of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, was warmly welcomed in various Gurdwaras there. During this, the members of the delegation were also specially honoured by the Gurdwara management and the Sangat.
The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee delegation paid obeisance at Lathrop (California), Gurdwara Gurmat Prakash Mantikka, which is run under the management of Damdami Taksal, Gurdwara Guru Nanak Prakash Fresno and other religious places. On this occasion, SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, Senior Vice President Raghujit Singh Virk, Chief Secretary Kulwant Singh Mannan, Member Bhai Rajinder Singh Mehta, OSD Satbir Singh and Secretary Balwinder Singh Kahlwan were honored by the Gurdwara management with a plaque of honor.
Addressing the congregation at Gurdwara Guru Nanak Parkash Fresno, Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that Sikhs living abroad have established the unique identity of Sikhism at the global level due to their hard work, dedication and deep commitment to the Guru Ghar. He said that the SGPC is continuously making efforts to propagate Sikhism, promote Gurmat principles and connect the younger generation with its heritage.
He also appreciated the services being rendered by Damdami Taksal for the propagation of Sikhism and said that the SGPC has always received full support from the Taksal for Panthic works, for which he is grateful to the organization.
Meanwhile, while addressing the Lathrop branch of Dal Baba Bidhikhand Samprada, Advocate Dhami highly appreciated the religious and social services being run under the leadership of Baba Avtar Singh Sursingh Wale. He said that Baba Avtar Singh has always supported the SGPC in Panthic matters and he hopes for similar support in the future as well.
Advocate Dhami also appealed to the local Sikh organizations and Sangat to provide maximum support for the press and religious propaganda center being established by the SGPC on the land donated by the late Didar Singh Bains in Yuba City.
On this occasion, local Sikh leaders highly appreciated the services being rendered by the Shiromani Committee in the Panthic, religious and educational fields and assured of providing all possible support to the organization. A large number of devotees including Baba Joginder Singh, Baba Dharam Singh, Baba Sahib Singh, Bhai Sarwan Singh Nihang, Bhai Harpal Singh were present during the function.
