Hoshiarpur: The girls from Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary Model School, Shimla Pahadi, Hoshiarpur, delivered an outstanding performance in the beach volleyball events of the 70th District-Level School Sports Competition (2026-27). By winning gold medals in all three categories—Under-14, Under-17, and Under-19—the girls brought glory to the school. The competition was organized at Government High School, Bhana, under the guidance of District Education Officer Harjinder Kaur and District Sports Coordinator Jagjit Singh.
Due to their excellent performance, eight players from the team were selected for the state-level competition. Upon the team's return to the school, School President Anurag Sood, Secretary Dr. Harshvinder Singh Pathania, Principals Shobha Kanwar and Manisha Joshi, along with the entire staff, congratulated the players and their coaches—Malkiyat Kumar, R.C. Mehta, and Ashwani Sharma. They expressed hope that the teams would continue to perform brilliantly in the future. Special blessings were also bestowed upon Captain Meenakshi, Lavpreet, and Yakshita.
