Ludhiana, September 29, 2026:- The Directorate of Extension Education of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, in collaboration with Ambuja Foundation, Bathinda, organized a one-day training programme on “Production of Clean Milk and Preparation of Quality Products from Milk” for 56 women dairy entrepreneurs.
The programme aimed to strengthen the technical knowledge, entrepreneurial skills and income-generating capacity of women engaged in dairy activities. The training focused on scientific dairy management, production of clean milk, milk processing, preparation of value-added products and development of profitable small-scale dairy enterprises.
Dr. Jatinder Pal Singh Gill, Vice-Chancellor, said that empowering women dairy entrepreneurs with scientific knowledge, practical skills and entrepreneurial capabilities can help improve the quality of dairy products, increase household income and create sustainable employment opportunities in rural areas. He appreciated the joint efforts of the university and Ambuja Foundation.
Dr. Ravinder Singh Grewal, Director of Extension Education, highlighted the importance of adopting scientific methods for animal health management, maintaining cleanliness during milking and promoting the preparation of quality products from milk. He said that such practical training programmes provide women entrepreneurs with the necessary practical knowledge to develop small-scale dairy processing enterprises.
The technical sessions covered disease-prevention management in animals, production of clean milk, setting up small dairy processing units, milk processing and preparation of quality products, premium dairy products and profitable business models. Dr. Jasneet Singh, Dr. Harneet Kaur, Dr. Ravdeep Singh and Dr. Kritika Verma coordinated the programme with the support of student coordinators Haryuvaraj Singh Bedi and Navroj Kaur.
The programme concluded with an interactive discussion session.
