Karnal, October 7: A grand procession was organized in village Nigdu yesterday to commemorate Maharishi Valmiki's birth anniversary. A large number of devotees, social workers, and local dignitaries participated in the procession. Nilokheri MLA Bhagwandas Kabirpanthi attended the event as the chief guest.
He offered floral tributes to Maharishi Valmiki's portrait and called for inspiration from his life. The procession passed through the city's main streets, beautifully depicting the life of Maharishi Valmiki through tableaux, bands, and devotional songs. Devotees welcomed the procession by showering flowers at various locations.
On this occasion, MLA Bhagwandas Kabirpanthi said that Maharishi Valmiki's life gave the message that with true determination, devotion, and self-confidence, a person can achieve any height. Valmiki is not only the author of the Ramayana, but also a symbol of humanity, equality, and justice. His life is inspiring for every section of society.
He stated that today, society desperately needs to follow the path shown by Maharishi Valmiki. He showed us the path from darkness to light, from injustice to justice, and from discrimination to equality. He stated that everyone in society should adopt Valmiki's ideas and strengthen mutual brotherhood, love, and unity.
Divisional President Chaudhary Rajpal Numberdar Haibatpur was also present at the event. He stated that Maharishi Valmiki's teachings continue to guide society today. His life teaches us that success and respect can only be achieved through hard work, virtue, and the path of truth.
The ceremony was chaired by Rintu Valmiki. Baba Haridas Shri Krishna Gopal Gaushala Chairman and former Sarpanch, senior BJP leader Chaudhary Karam Singh Jamba, also expressed their views on the occasion.
He said that Maharishi Valmiki inspired society to move from ignorance to knowledge, from discrimination to equality, and from injustice to justice. Today, society desperately needs to follow his path. Valmiki's ideals are not just for one era, but also a guide for generations to come.
At the end of the program, a pledge was taken to foster social unity, goodwill, and to embrace Maharishi Valmiki's ideals. The entire city echoed with chants of "Jai Maharishi Valmiki."
