Una, May 04: During the scrutiny process of nomination papers filed across various urban local bodies in Una district, one candidate's nomination paper was rejected, while the nominations of 136 candidates were found to be valid.
District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal stated that a total of 137 candidates had filed their nomination papers in the district. During the scrutiny, the nomination paper of Sandeep Kumar—a candidate from Ward No. 6 of the Amb Municipal Council—was rejected as the necessary formalities regarding the prescribed eligibility documents were found to be incomplete.
He further informed that candidates contesting the urban local body elections may withdraw their nomination papers until 3:00 PM on May 6. Following this deadline, election symbols will be allotted to the remaining candidates. He added that polling will take place on May 17 from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and the counting of votes will be conducted on May 31.
