Chandigarh:- The Indian Under-19 cricket team has created history by making it to the final of the World Cup for the 10th time. India defeated Afghanistan by 7 wickets in the second semi-final played on Wednesday.
Batting first at the Harare Sports Club, Afghanistan posted a huge score of 310 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 50 overs, which included centuries from Faisal Shinozada (110) and Uzairullah Niazai (101).
For India, Deepesh Devendran and Kanishk Chauhan took 2 wickets each. Chasing a mountain-like target of 311 runs, the Indian team adopted a very aggressive approach. Opener Aaron George scored a brilliant century of 115 runs, while Vaibhav Suryavanshi (68) and captain Ayush Mahatre (62) scored half-centuries to pave the way for victory. India achieved the target in just 41.1 overs for the loss of 3 wickets, the biggest run-chase in the history of the tournament. India will now face England in the final on February 6.
