Moonak, June 14:- Dr. Ravjot Grewal, SSP. While giving information to the press, Sangrur informed that during the campaign “War on Drugs” and “Village Guards” launched by Sub Division Moonak Police, 01 drug case was registered and 01 accused was arrested from 08.06.2026 to 14.06.2026, 40 narcotic pills and 04 grams of Chitta/Heroin were seized and 01 case was registered under 27 NDPS and the accused was admitted to the drug de-addiction center and 15 people trapped in the swamp of drugs were given medicine from the drug de-addiction center. 26 accused were arrested in the cases registered under various sections. Apart from this, 117 traffic challans have been issued under various crimes of vehicles violating traffic rules. After checking the suspicious persons, action was taken against 56 persons under 172 BNSS and preventive action has been taken against 22 persons.
The public was also appealed to cooperate in the anti-drug campaign. The general public and the youth are being made aware about the ill effects of drugs by holding meetings with Panchayats/Sports Clubs/Mohatwars so that the scourge of drugs can be eradicated from the root.
Concrete efforts are being made to prevent drugs by taking action against drug dealers and bad elements. The war against drugs continues.
