Firozpur, September 16:- As per the directions of Deputy Commissioner-cum-Principal Census Officer Firozpur, Deepshikha Sharma, a two-day training programme for all Charge Census Officers under Phase-2 of Census 2027 was conducted at the Meeting Hall of the Office of the Deputy Commissioner. The training was imparted by R.P. Singh, Joint Director, Census Department, Kartik Arya, District Coordinator, and Bimal, J.E. SDM Firozpur, Shri Abhishek Sharma, and SDM Zira, Suraj, were also specially present during the training.
On the occasion, R.P. Singh, Joint Director, Census Department, stated that under Phase-2 of Census 2027, self-enumeration is to be carried out from November 16, 2026, to November 30, 2026. During this process, common citizens will be able to fill in their data online themselves.
He said that thereafter, field work is to be carried out through digital mode from December 1, 2026, to January 4, 2027, through the CMMS Portal. In this regard, all Charge Census Officers of District Firozpur were given detailed training on the use of the portal and various aspects related to field work.
During the training, the officers were provided information regarding digital-mode data collection under Phase-2 of Census 2027, use of the portal, and the work to be carried out at the field level. Their questions were also answered.
On this occasion, Gurinder Singh, Additional District Census Officer, Tarsem Lal, Assistant Research Officer, and Harjinder Singh, Assistant Research Officer, were also present.
